Project Description
This new construction contemporary modern design home resides off of Elliott Bay in Seattle. The interior finishes and the structure in general, reflects the owner’s passion and love for the great outdoors. The master bedroom wing cantilevers out over and away from the home providing a private, captivating view of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains. In the kitchen, beech paneled cabinet faces, reflecting hills and streams, were carved using a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining process. A bronze flame-sprayed scupper pours collected roof rain water over “floating” one ton basalt boulders. A reflection pool harvests the rain fall and the rainwater system ensures a constant waterfall even after the Seattle clouds have floated away. The interior railings are plasma cut and the exterior iron gates fabricated by means of a computer guided water jet cutter. Both of these components exquisitely evoke reeds and grasses found in the open fields. The home is heated by means of radiant floor heat throughout and is pre-wired for future solar panels.
